West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine Constituency Labour Party select Mr NURUL HOQUE ALI as Westminster Parliamentary candidate

NURUL ALI, a chartered chemical engineer, who has worked in the oil and gas industry for nearly eighteen years, and was a Labour Councillor for the London Borough of Newham during 1998-2002, said "I am absolutely thrilled to bits. This is a great constituency to represent and I look forward to engaging with all the constituents and start pushing for positive change in West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine"

HARRY BYGATE, chair of West Aberdeenshire & Kincardine Constituency Labour Party, said "We're very pleased to have a candidate who is fully involved in the community and who also works offshore, like many of the local population. He understands the difficulties offshore workers experience through being absent from their families at work. He is also very aware of the Health and Safety, and holiday situations of offshore workers."

NURUL HOQUE ALI is 40 years old, married with three primary school aged daughters. He was educated in Bow, London, went to The University of Leeds and studied Chemical Engineering graduating in 1990 with a BEng (Hons). In 2000, he completed an MBA at Cass Business School at the Barbican (London). He is a Chartered Engineer and a fully accredited member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. He enjoys keeping fit, has a Community Sports Leadership Award (Swimming) and an Amateur Wrestling Level 1 Coaching certificate.
